Rajasthan Reels Under Severe Heatwave
The state of Rajasthan is currently grappling with an extreme heatwave that is expected to intensify. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding the rising temperatures, highlighting an already critical situation.
On a scorching Wednesday, Sri Ganganagar recorded an alarming temperature of 48 degrees Celsius, marking it as the highest in the nation.
Forecasts indicate a further rise in temperatures by one to two degrees in both the western and northern regions. Specifically, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh in the Bikaner division are anticipated to face maximum temperatures ranging from 47 to 48 degrees Celsius between June 12 and 13. In the coming days, maximum temperatures between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius are expected to persist in significant divisions including Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota.
The escalating heatwave has led to an uptick in patients at hospitals across the national capital. According to health professionals, those who work outdoors under direct sunlight are suffering the most due to the relentless heat conditions. Consequently, a red alert has been issued for Delhi, highlighting the urgent need for precautionary measures.
As these intense weather patterns persist, attention is drawn to the broader implications of climate change, prompting discussions around sustainable living and adaptive strategies to counteract such severe environmental impacts.
